In many cases, breast reduction surgery can aid in improving the overall health of the women who are in need of this procedure. A great majority of the women who have chosen this type of surgical procedure have done so because they are in need of relieving the great strain or injury that their breasts are causing on their back and neck. Of course, there are many women who choose breast reduction surgery to improve their looks as well. Over the years, there have been many women who have turned away from breast reduction due to the substantial costs that can be associated with this procedure.

The cost of your own breast reduction surgery will largely depend on the type of treatment you decide upon. On average, a breast reduction patient will find themselves paying anywhere from seven thousand dollars or more. This price will be based on the surgeon, facility fees, anesthesia fees and the location of the surgery. Board certified surgeons who have a background in breast reduction can charge anywhere from four thousand dollars or more for their services. Beware of any surgeon who offers to perform this type of surgery for under five thousand dollars. These cheaper surgeons will likely not be board certified and it is a large risk to use a surgeon that is not board certified. Facility fees and anesthesia fees will both run in the price range of eight hundred to over one thousand dollars. Location can greatly affect the price of the surgery, but you must be careful when choosing locations out of country.

Some insurance policies may help to cover the costs of breast reduction surgery itself. Breast reduction procedures are one of the few plastic surgery types that are often looked upon as necessary procedures by many insurance companies. For those without insurance, there are financing options with most surgeons for breast reduction surgery.
