Laser Services

Our office provides a variety of laser treatments. Our board certified plastic surgeons have been using CO2, NdYAG and yellow light lasers for over 20 years in the treatment of various medical and aesthetic conditions. Our board certified physician assistant, Julie Sylvester, RPA-C, provides laser hair removal and other laser treatments utilizing Gentle Max Laser by Candela.

Gentle Max works by creating a beam of high intensity light that delivers a controlled amount of heat along with a cooling burst of cryogen to the treatment area. The length of your treatment may take as little as a few minutes or as long as an hour depending on the area to be treated. Treatment feels much like the snapping of a small rubber band. Most patients feel very little discomfort. The number of sessions needed will vary. To prepare for the laser avoid waxing, plucking and sun exposure in the area. Shaving however, is encouraged as is the use of a sunscreen prior to treatment. Side effects are minimal and will be reviewed at the time of your consult. Laser treatments are generally not covered by insurance and are purely cosmetic. A price estimate will be given at the time of your consult.
